Back to School

Well, it has been FOREVER since I updated this blog. Sorry guys! We have had a very busy summer. We started out at the NCHE Conference in Winston Salem back in May. We had the best time. I took both of the kids with me (was wondering if they would get bored).....absolutely no boredom! My oldest was totally taken with John Stonestreet of Summit Ministries-----we went to every single workshop. He had such a way of presenting worldview---we're going to do the Summit Ministries (summit.org) middle school curriculum this year. The atmosphere there is so exciting----and the talent show was amazing-----wow those kids have talent!

After the conference, we came back to VBS. Oh what fun at Son Roch Kid's Camp! Nothing like it! The kids had a blast, and so did their Mommy!

Add to that, lots of swimming, lots of visits with friends, my oldest turning 12 years old (where did the time go?!!!), and we'll end it with my youngest turning 10 (double digits as she likes to say!).

I'm firmly entrenched in lesson planning right now. The kids are so ready to start back----and they have huge plans for our year...... Ancient History AND American History, Latin AND Spanish, Grammar, Book studies, Bible, Art (no Mommy is NOT artistic!), Math, Science, Vocabulary and LOTS of field trips----museums, etc and we hope to get to Homeschool days at Williamsburgh, VA.....I also want to get to the Lost Colony. So, ultimately, we're off to the races----starting August 3.

I'll try to do a better job of keeping everyone up to date on what we are learning and doing this year. I think this will be our most exciting year so far......
